Taughtful — a voice-AI tutor for videos, documents, and any topic
What is Taughtful?
Taughtful is a voice-AI tutor that teaches you from any YouTube video, document, or topic. Paste a link or upload a file and a live tutor indexes it, draws slides on screen, and teaches it aloud section by section, pausing where you're stuck and answering questions you speak mid-lesson. Free to start.
Taughtful puts a live voice tutor in front of anything you want to learn. Paste a video, drop a document, or name a topic, and it teaches out loud, drawing slides as it speaks and yielding the moment you interrupt.
How does Taughtful work?
- Teach me a video. Paste a YouTube link. Taughtful reads the transcript, indexes the video into sections, and a voice tutor walks you through it — drawing diagrams and slides, pausing the video where you need to think, and answering questions out loud. Works with any public YouTube video that has captions, in any language.
- Teach me a document. Bring a PDF, a slide deck, a web link, or pasted text — together if you like. Taughtful weaves them into one lesson with chapters and teaches it section by section, so a 500-page book costs the same effort to learn as a short article.
- Teach me a topic. Type any subject. Taughtful curates real sources and a live tutor builds a lesson and teaches it aloud, with generated visuals.
What makes Taughtful different from a chatbot?
- A voice you can interrupt. This is a real spoken tutor, not a chatbot. Speak to it, interrupt any time, ask it to slow down, go deeper, or explain differently — it adapts live.
- Slides drawn as it speaks. The Generative Player composes each slide live from a library of more than 20 visual element kinds — diagrams, charts, timelines, comparisons, and more — highlighting each idea as it's spoken.
- It teaches, it doesn't summarize. Taughtful walks the full arc of an idea section by section, checking understanding, rather than dumping a summary.
Who is Taughtful for?
Students, self-learners, and anyone who learns better by being taught out loud than by reading alone. Taughtful is free to start; sign in to save your videos and documents and pick up where you left off.
Inside a lesson
- Mix sources. A PDF, a slide deck, a web article, and pasted text can go in together; Taughtful weaves them into one lesson with chapters, and you can jump to any section and the tutor jumps with you.
- Video that pauses for you. The tutor pauses the video where you're stuck, re-teaches that part with fresh visuals, then picks the video back up.
- Pick your pace. When learning a topic, choose a quick pass, a standard lesson, or a deep dive.
- Slides drawn live. The Generative Player composes the diagrams, charts, and callouts for your lesson as the tutor speaks.
Courses that check you understood
A course on Taughtful is a guided run of live lessons with checkpoints between them: quick quizzes, and spoken checks where you explain the idea back in your own words. Finishing is earned by engaging, not by clicking through, and progress is saved so you pick up exactly where you stopped.
CodeBridge: your coding agent's answers, taught out loud
One command turns the last thing Claude Code or Codex said into a live lesson. Install the CLI with npm i -g @taughtful/codebridge (or the Claude Code plugin), then type ! codebridge after any answer, tagging files with @path. A voice tutor teaches the answer and the files on a drawn board, with room to ask why. More at taughtful.ai/codebridge

Why teaching this way works
- Courses include spoken checks where you explain the idea back in your own words — applying retrieval practice, one of the best-replicated effects in learning science (Roediger & Karpicke, "Test-Enhanced Learning", Psychological Science, 2006).
- The tutor draws while it speaks because people learn more deeply from words and pictures together than from words alone (Mayer, Multimedia Learning, Cambridge University Press).
- One-to-one tutoring is the most effective form of instruction ever measured (Bloom, "The 2 Sigma Problem", Educational Researcher, 1984). Taughtful exists to make that kind of tutor available for anything you want to learn.
Frequently asked questions
Is Taughtful free?
Yes. The free plan gives 10 voice minutes a day and 25 a week, no card needed, with every mode included: topics, videos, documents, and courses. Pro is $15 a month and Max is $39 a month; annual billing saves 20 percent. Full details at taughtful.ai/pricing.
What can Taughtful teach from?
Three sources: any public YouTube video with captions, in any language; documents such as PDFs, slide decks, web articles, or pasted text, alone or combined into one lesson; and any topic you type, for which Taughtful curates real sources and builds a lesson. In every case a live voice tutor teaches the material aloud with slides drawn on screen.
Can I interrupt the tutor?
Yes, that is the point. Voice is live the whole time you're learning. Ask a question mid-sentence, tell it to slow down, or make it take another run at the part that didn't land. The tutor yields, answers out loud, redraws the slide if needed, and then picks the lesson back up where you left off.
What happens to my documents?
When you upload a document, its extracted content is stored in a private, per-user storage folder accessible only to you and Taughtful's backend. Saved content is kept until you delete it or close your account; unsaved ingested documents are auto-deleted after a short retention window. Taughtful does not sell personal data, and you can request deletion at any time.
Is Taughtful just a chatbot?
No. A chatbot answers typed messages with text. Taughtful is a spoken tutor that teaches the full arc of an idea section by section, draws slides and diagrams as it speaks, and checks understanding rather than dumping a summary. You talk to it and interrupt it like you would a person.
